House Flamingos Built is my creative playground—a world I explore through the lens of the flamingo. For me, flamingos represent fun, confidence, and individuality, qualities I intentionally weave into every piece. They are both familiar and unexpected, serving as a joyful entry point into deeper visual exploration.
My work is created primarily with permanent markers and vibrant, colorful palettes, allowing for bold lines, layered patterns, and an unmistakable sense of energy. I’m drawn to the immediacy and permanence of the medium—each mark is intentional, confident, and unapologetic. Color plays an equally important role, functioning as both structure and emotion within the work.
At the core of my practice is sensational pattern design, where repetition, movement, and color transform each piece into an immersive visual environment rather than a singular image. The patterns become a visual playground, inviting the viewer to linger, explore rhythm, and experience a sense of joy and curiosity.
Through House Flamingos Built, I aim to create work that feels confident yet accessible—art that doesn’t ask to be decoded, but experienced. I hope viewers feel delight, freedom, and self-expression, and perhaps see their own uniqueness reflected back at them.
